As mystery surrounds the Princess of Wales, a similar enigma emerges in the country bearing her royal title. A towering steel monolith, almost as tall as a semi-truck, has been discovered in Wales, leaving locals baffled as to its origin.
WalesOnline reported on Tuesday that residents stumbled upon the 10-foot-tall structure on a hill in Hay-on-Wye, an area renowned for its literary culture. Local resident Richard Haynes recounted his surprise when he encountered the object while out for a run on Hay Bluff.
"At first, I thought it might be some kind of scientific apparatus for collecting rainwater," he told WalesOnline. "But its height and peculiar design made it clear that this was something else entirely."
Haynes described the monolith as a 10-foot-tall, triangular stainless steel structure, hollow and seemingly lightweight enough for two people to carry and install. His friend, who had visited the same location two weeks prior, had not seen the monolith, suggesting its recent appearance.
Another man, Craig Muir, told the PA News Agency that he initially mistook the structure for a UFO. In a video posted to Facebook, Muir expressed his astonishment, stating that he had never seen such a thing before. Despite the windy weather, the monolith remained steady and level.
This is not the first instance of mysterious monoliths appearing in the U.K. or other parts of the world. In 2020, similar structures briefly appeared in Colorado, California, and Utah, evoking comparisons to the monolith in the film "2001: A Space Odyssey."
In 2020 multiple sightings were reported in mostly isolated areas across Europe. A sighting at Compton Beach on the Isle of Wight and the Merry Maidens stone circle in Cornwall attracted hundreds of TikTokers and Instagrammers desperate to go viral.
Many speculated that these installations were works of art.

"Massive monoliths" aren't carried by two people.
I've told you forty million times to quit EXAGGERATING!!
Western culture appears to be producing individuals inclined to cult like tendencies. Like Heaven’s Gate, Jim Jones, the Japanese rail poisoning etc. their minds are willing to accept all manner of beliefs so long as it is the opposite of Christian belief. One can point to higher education indoctrination rightly so being hostile to Christianity but over my lifetime I blame the Church for hypocrisy. Parents fall away and take their children with them. People are desperate for anything that allows their expression and allows them to hold onto anything.
I wonder if tire tracks are spotted about 1/4 mile distant from these sites which my the way I heard of one in the US West. That one appeared then was removed just as mysteriously.
I don’t believe that I’m living in the “end times”. People just have a tendency to want to believe they are special. All throughout history people were certain it was upon us. My belief is that things would be much much worse than our current state. There is a falling away and nobody seems to have a remedy. I’m fairly certain like politics the solution starts locally.
In absence of a belief cult like behavior is attempting to start some sort of new religion. Could be simply a hoax that someone is laughing at right now.
