Because "the beast" was an individual (who hung Christians on poles, covered them in wax and pitch and tar—basically anything extremely flammable—and lit them on fire alive to light the streets of Rome for his festivities); antichrist is not a person but is a position taken in opposition to Jesus Christ.
What these people (as David Icke is exposing) is antichrist. It is against Christ, which is what the term, coined by and only ever used in Scripture by the Apostle John, means.
